This project was born after a message from Carlos, a watch and nautical enthusiast, who wanted to make a series of watches inspired by two of his boats.
The collection consists of three watches, two Explorers and one Datejust. The design process was laborious as many tests and designs had to be made, but the result was very gratifying. The first step was to talk to the client about his tastes and explore the different ideas he had for the watches.
In the case of the Explorer, after a proposal, we saw that he preferred the first generation over the current one. He was not entirely convinced by the dial colours of the original model, black and white, but he did like the bright red GMT hand. It was then that we proposed to mount a satin-finished navy blue dial that would maintain the elegance of the watch but make the GMT hand stand out. He loved the idea, so we continued moving forward with the second design. For the datejust, Carlos was very clear. He wanted to use the 36mm case with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, all accompanied by a striking Tiffany blue dial.
The next step was the design of the spheres. They all had to follow a common scheme, so we got to work on it. After many tests, Carlos opted for a simple design. On the top of the sphere we find the name of each of the boats and the initials of the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona and on the bottom, the profile of each of the boats.
The result? Two watches with a magnificent design and finish, and a very happy customer. Now Carlos can enjoy his boats with two watches worthy of a captain.
